Truffles & Wine: Welcome to Piedmont, a paradise of pleasure!
Why do truffles smell so strong, under what conditions do they grow, how do you prepare them and how do they taste best? Why most truffle dogs are female, you will learn all this and much more during our truffle tour in Piedmont. Truffle hunting is possible almost all year round.
Go truffle hunting with us, our truffle hunter and his dog and experience how the noble tubers are found. Afterwards, we will prepare a delicious menu during the truffle cooking course so that you can enjoy the truffles you have found and dug out yourself right away. For dessert, of course, there will be homemade the delicious chocolate truffles!
In spring and summer, Piedmont is a little more tranquil than in autumn, when the white truffles are found. But the black “summer truffles” are certainly not to be sneezed at either! The landscape is also a dream in summer: the vineyards are lush green and you can watch the farmers working the noble vines.
In autumn, the white truffles attract gourmets from all over the world to Alba. The wonderful colouring of the leaves in the vineyards and the beautiful panoramic views as far as the Alps are unforgettable. From the beginning of October until the end of November, the truffle fair takes place in Alba every Saturday and Sunday.
But in winter, Piedmont is a real insider tip, because that’s when the truffles are really good! Everything is much more tranquil than in the turbulent autumn months, so you can really “slow down” in the land of slow food and enjoy a good meal and wine or spumante at the end of the year.
Of course, a visit to a family-run winery followed by a tasting is not to be missed! Barolo, Barbaresco, Nebbiolo & Co round off the truffle enjoyment!
The trip is individually designed according to your wishes and in our offer you get several domiciles in your desired category to choose from.
