Our Piedmont tour continues to the original Monferrato or Roero region with its Barbera d’Asti. Continue to the ‘heart’ of Piedmont in the area around Alba. Let yourself be enchanted by the sight of the seemingly endless Barolo vineyards, the hills and the small villages with their castles.

The wine seminar with our sommelier takes place in a winery in the Barolo region and lasts approx. 4-5 hours. After the cellar tour, you will receive extensive technical information on the wines of Piedmont, the various vineyards and growing regions of Barolo, Barbaresco and Roero. You will then learn the basic techniques of wine tasting in a fun and playful way and experience that not only the palate but also the nose plays an important role. This is followed by extensive tasting and sampling! Traditional wines such as Arneis, Barbera and Nebbiolo, Barolo, Barbaresco and Moscato are accompanied by a delicious selection of Piedmontese specialities. Which wine goes with which food – which combination complements each other perfectly? An exciting and playful wine seminar that will leave you wanting more!

Do you know the champagne of Piedmont? Here it’s called Alta Langa! The fine grape juice ferments in the bottle for around 36 months – then it’s ready to savour. You will visit Italy’s oldest sparkling wine cellar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site – a unique experience!

But you can not only enjoy wine – you can also paint with it. During the trip, you will visit an artist who will introduce you to the technique during a short painting course.

Go on a truffle hunt with our truffle hunter and his dog during the truffle trip and experience how the truffles are found.

You will then prepare a delicious meal during the truffle cookery course. This way you can enjoy the truffles you have found and dug up yourself. For dessert, of course, there are the delicious homemade chocolate truffles!

In spring and summer, Piedmont is a little quieter than in autumn, when the white truffles are found. But the black ‘summer truffles’ are not to be sneezed at either! Ideal time for a truffle trip.

The landscape is a dream in summer: the vineyards are lush green and you can watch the winegrowers at work on the fine vines.

In autumn, the white truffles attract gourmets from all over the world to Alba. The wonderful colouring of the leaves in the vineyards and the magnificent panoramic views as far as the Alps are unforgettable. The truffle fair takes place in Alba every Saturday and Sunday from the beginning of October to the end of November.

But in winter, Piedmont is a real insider tip, because that’s when the truffles are really good! Everything is much more tranquil than in the turbulent autumn months, so you can really ‘slow down’ in the land of slow food. Of course, a visit to a family-run winery followed by a wine tasting is a must! Barolo, Barbaresco, Nebbiolo & Co round off the truffle enjoyment during your gourmet trip!

Cooking & Wine Tour in the Heart of Piedmont

Cooking and tasting the variety of Piedmontese wines – welcome to our Piedmont trip in the SLOWFOOD Land of Piedmont!

Experience an unforgettable cooking course in Piedmont during your Piedmont trip: get to know local specialities and enjoy authentic Italian cuisine in beautiful surroundings!

The magic of cooking begins with the shopping: off to Cuneo to the street food market! You will be guided through the market in German and experience Piedmont in an authentic and culinary way. Nowhere else can you find out more about the country and its people than at the market: traditions, history, culinary specialities. Let yourself be captivated by the lively atmosphere. Savour the wide range of delicacies available to sample.

This will get you in the right mood before you learn the basics of traditional Piedmontese cuisine during the cookery course on another day.

You will prepare a typical menu (2 starters, various pasta dishes, main course with meat and 2 desserts). You will also learn all kinds of useful tips and tricks, some of which have been handed down for generations. During the subsequent lunch or dinner, you will enjoy your cookery skills with wines from the region.

To round off the gourmet tour, you will visit a family-run vineyard in the middle of the UNESCO World Heritage vineyards. There you will taste the wonderful wines of Piedmont.

Offer & Booking

Offer & booking process:

During the first free and non-binding consultation, we will discuss your wishes, ideas and needs for the trip and then, if you wish, we will go into the planning stage and prepare a concrete offer for you.

This offer will be prepared very carefully by us and will include a choice of different domiciles (with availability on your travel dates and a non-binding reservation option) as well as the activities discussed. We charge new customers between €80 and €250 for this preliminary work, depending on the cost (number of people, duration of the trip, planned activities).

For returning customers and regular customers, we prepare the offer without a processing fee.
The amount will of course be credited in full upon booking.
